Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These terms govern your use of Venato. Short version: Venato is a reading-progress tracker — we host metadata and your progress, never the content you read; be decent, don't use us to infringe anyone's rights, and your data stays yours.
What Venato is
Venato tracks your reading and watching progress across the web via a browser extension and a website. Venato hosts no books, comics or videos and provides no access to any content: we store metadata about works (titles, covers, descriptions) and your personal progress, and we only ever link out to official sources. Reading happens on the sites you already use, under their own terms.
Your account
You need an account to sync progress. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us if you suspect misuse. You must be at least 16, or the digital-consent age of your country. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Acceptable use
Don't abuse the service: no attempts to break, overload or reverse the API, no scraping of other users' data, no impersonation, no spam. Automated access is allowed only through the official extension and documented endpoints.
What you contribute
Parts of Venato are community-built: parser configurations, public lists, reviews and catalog fixes. You keep ownership of what you submit and grant Venato a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display and distribute it as part of the service (for example serving a parser you contributed to other users). Staff review community parsers before they are served, but we do not endorse the websites they describe.
Copyright and third-party sites
Venato does not host, index or link to infringing content, and publicly links only to official sources. Tracking where you read is your action, on your account, in your browser; it does not make Venato a party to the sites you visit. Rights holders can reach us at the contact below — legitimate takedown requests about community-contributed data are honoured quickly.
Availability
Venato is young and provided “as is”, without warranty of uninterrupted service. We may add, change or discontinue features; if we ever discontinued the service, you would keep the ability to export your data first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Venato is not liable for indirect damages, for the content or behaviour of third-party websites, or for loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law grants you.
Termination
You can stop using Venato and delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms, after warning where reasonable.
Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms we will announce it (on the site or by email) before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Venato after that means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply.
